Our remote team clocked serious hours walking, working, and sometimes jogging to find the best under-desk treadmills for home offices and small spaces.
The Auto Incline Walking Treadmill offers a solid incline range, going up to a level nine, or a 12-percent incline. After the Urevo CyberPad, it’s one of the highest incline capabilities I’ve found in my testing. Canning was most impressed by how quiet it is. You can connect your phone to play music through the speakers, too.

NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill for $2,499: With a top speed of 12 mph, incline and decline options, a springy running deck, fans, a 16-inch pivoting touchscreen, and two water bottle holders, this is the best treadmill tester Kristin Canning has used. Although it is a foldable treadmill and suitable for walking and hiking workouts, it’s still bulky and relatively expensive if you’re only looking for a space-saving walking pad. If you’re searching for a running treadmill, check out Canning’s guide to the Best Treadmills.
Toputure TP6 Walking Pad for $225: This is a foldable, screenless walking pad that is ideal for small apartments and spaces. It takes only a few minutes to set up and compact, but it weighs 56 pounds, so not the most portable. During my second day of testing, the pad began making a high-pitched scraping noise, which likely indicated a misaligned belt. This unbearable noise would come and go throughout my two weeks of testing. The handlebars are height-adjustable, ranging from 32 to 45 inches, and they are also tilt-adjustable. Be cautious of the handlebar locks while walking by, as they can catch on clothing. As a budget option, I still prefer the Sperax, which is a couple of dollars cheaper as well.
